Minnesota Campus Compact supports civic engagement and democratic renewal through its diverse network of colleges and universities. Recently, Martin Luther Campus was nominated for the Presidents' Community Partner Award by our partners at Normandale Community College and WON!!!
This award is for a community-based organization that has enhanced the quality of life in the community in meaningful and measurable ways and has engaged in the development of sustained, reciprocal partnerships with the college or university, thus enriching educational as well as community outcomes. This nomination and award would not be possible without the passionate and tireless work of our Director of Therapeutic Recreation, Sally Peterson. This is what Wanda Kanwischer from Normandale Community College had to say when nominating us, "Normandale students have been encouraged to share themselves with residents of Martin Luther Campus in a variety of ways. Sally goes above and beyond to meet students' learning and scheduling needs and to connect them to residents in ways that enhance their learning and understanding of the wonderful seniors they serve." We want to say thank you to Minnesota Campus Compact for the honor, thank you to Normandale Community College for your partnership and nomination but most of all to Sally for the AMAZING work you do!

I also want to congratulate the people who participated in this event. I'm very proud of them for achieving this. This is a very recognition and they should be really happy about it. They really worked hard to achieve this very special prize. Hopefully, they will achieve more awards in the future and hope that they still do their best at what they do.
